Our Patron HRH The Prince of Wales celebrates KJB with Trust supporters at Clarence House

An eclectic group of 80 academics, MPs, actors, clergy and philanthropists were recently invited into The Prince of Wales's London home to mark the 400th year of the King James Bible. Those joining the Prince included comedian Frank Skinner, writer Adam Nicolson, Culture Minister Ed Vaizey and the actor Timothy West CBE.
Our Chairman, The Rt. Hon. Frank Field MP., introduced The Prince with the sentiment that the work the Trust is doing aims to leave a sustainable legacy, ensuring the world is well equipped to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Bible. The Prince echoed these wishes, explaining the virtues of the Authorised Version which he sees as “part of the very architecture of our culture”. He said that in hard times “all these wonderful passages come back to give ... comfort and solace”.
The Prince was amused that his addition to the Trust’s YouTube Bible project (where he reads from John, Chapter 14) had caused such comments on Twitter as “If The Prince ever gets tired of Princing, he would be a fabulous narrator. What a soothing voice”
We couldn’t agree more.
