Chapter 1 . . .

Date Published: Friday, 28 August 2009

Hello! My name is David, I am working on the 2011 website.

As I am sure you know by now, The 2011 Trust exists to celebrate 400 years of the King James Bible, perhaps the most important book in the history of the language, culture and heritage of the English-speaking world.

There will be events taking place around the world to celebrate this anniversary, and the purpose of the website is to showcase as many of these as possible. Expect drama, music, literature, poetry, educational resources, interactive exhibitions, online galleries and much much more.

Joining me in contributing to this journal will others involved in the 2011 celebrations, our Trustees, those involved in our massive programme of arts and education events, and even the odd celebrity supporter! All will be discussing their plans and hopes for 2011 and how the projects they are involved in are developing.

If you have something to say about how we might further mark the 2011 celebrations, why you think they are important and how you think the KJV will continue to shape the life of the English-speaking world, we would be delighted to hear from you, and what you write may well appear here!
