Patcham Community Fete, Flower Festival and art exhibition (at All Saints) – a celebration of the King James Bible
There will be a flower festival in the church. Throughout the year artists have been in residence and they will be given an opportunity to display their work in the building from which they drew their inspiration. The art is for sale. All Saints church is a Norman church (with later additions). The fete will be themed around the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible with short bible readings and times for reflection and prayer during the afternoon in this beautiful ancient building. Come and be shown the church by our welcomers in their Jacobean costumes and listen to the organ music. Meanwhile outside the church, on the village green, the vicarage grounds and in the church centre and medieval barn there will be more than 40 stalls from the local churches and community organisations selling crafts, garden produce, jewellery, books, children’s toys, cakes, bric a brac and preserves. Enjoy afternoon tea in the church lounge, or outside and listen to Patcham Silver Band. There will be plenty of games, face painting and activities (many free) for children of all ages. There will be representatives from the local emergency services and two fire engines (subject to operational requirements). There is no entrance charge for this event, there will be a programme detailing the events and activities and there will be 500 free copies of St Mark’s gospel being given away.
