The Bible Journey
Details:
Reflecting the vision of the publication of the King James Bible, a copy will embark on a three week journey to the people of County Durham, and will remain in a 'Receiving Church'of each of three Archdeaconry areas for one week , whilst the Deaneries and the 'Receiving Church' read their share of the whole Bible reading schedule. There will be 117 reading locations including Durham Cathedral, HM Prison, Durham and Frankland High Security Prison Durham, schools, community centres, shopping centres , and the churches will be ecumenical in representation. The Bible will be brought to the Cathedral at the end of its journey where prayers of thanksgiving will be said at Evensong, and after Lent it will continue to play its part in one of the Diocesan Strategies which aims to encourage the reading of the Bible.
