King James Bible Lectures at Hereford Cathedral - Timothy Symons, 'With the former translations diligently compared and revised': the literary ancestry of the King James Bible

Timothy Symons studied music at Christ Church, Oxford, where he also sang as an academical clerk in the cathedral choir: he is now a lay clerk in the choir of Hereford Cathedral. When he is not singing, he spends much of his time researching and editing English music of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, and is a member of the editorial committee of the British Academy series Early English Church Music. He is currently writing a book on the psalm translations of Miles Coverdale.
