Community Groups - Be a stop on our James tour!
We are looking for school, church and community groups to take part in a unique tour across the country in 2011 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.
One of our most exciting projects for 2011 will be the production of a new piece of community theatre entitled James.
The work will be a dramatic and musical re-telling of the story of King James I, focussing particularly on the aftermath of the failed gunpowder plot and King James' profound speech to the country wherein he stressed that the people should not 'tar all Catholics with the same brush' as the perpetrators of the foul deed.
This stands out in stark contrast with the reaction to the September 11th attacks on the Twin Towers, where a religion not a group of individuals shouldered a large amount of blame.
The play will have many memorable musical themes and use exciting dramatic images and language, including those inspired by the King James Bible itself.
The project is being produced by Matthew Baker producer of the hugely successful Chester Mystery Plays and is famous for his ability to stage productions of high quality that encourage the participation of members of the local community along side professional actors.
These clips are taken from Matthew's spectacular 2008 production of the Chester Mystery Plays, and in 2011 we are hoping to go even bigger and better.
In 2011 Matthew will be taking a small group of actors and musicians out on tour to work with community groups around the country to stage productions of this exciting new work. If you know of a school, church or community group that might like to collaborate with Matthew and his team in staging a production, please email email@example.com.
